Mamelodi Sundowns beat Kaizer Chiefs in the MTN 8 Showdown. Sundowns scored two quick goals through Peter Shalulile (10 min) and Themba Zwane (23 min) before Chiefs could reduce the deficit with a goal from Parker few minutes before half time in the 38th minute of the game. Kaizer Chiefs came back re-organized in the second half with the introduction of their marquee signing Keegan Dolly who assisted Khama Billiat with a goal in the same minute Dolly was introduced in the 59th minute of the game.
The game ended 2-2 even after extra-time. Chiefs were first to take penalties in the shootout with Cardoso, Nurkorvic, Matoho and Ngcobo missing and Dolly being the only player to convert for Chiefs. Sundowns' Zwane and goalkeeper Mweene's marvellous kick were only penalties converted for the Tshwane's side, with Safranko and Lekay being the only two that failed to convert. Sundowns now joined Golden Arrows and Swallows in the semis. The last spot will be confirmed by either Amazulu or Cape Town City who face each other in Durban on Sunday evening.
